Pioneer teams with Parrot for Voice Recognition enabled systems

02/10/2009 - Press

Paris, October 2nd 2009 – Parrot announced today that its association with Pioneer is taken one step further with the release of a new generation of innovative car stereos offering Speaker-Independent Voice Recognition.

With this launch, Pioneer and Parrot are setting a new standard of sophistication and user convenience in automotive systems.

"Audio manufacturers are looking for solutions that will allow broad in-car connectivity and convenience to vehicle owners. Parrot has the technology that enables these solutions and our chipsets and modules are being selected by more and more car equipment manufacturers for their products worldwide" said Eric Riyahi, OEM Executive Director at Parrot.

This innovation is possible thanks to Parrot’s CK5050+ module. This module currently powers Bluetooth telephony, Mutimedia connectivity (USB mass storage & IPOD/IPHONE) combined with Speaker-Independent Voice Recognition. Pioneer’s DEH product family use CK5050+ for advanced hands-free telephony combined with state-of-the-art Speaker-Independent Voice Recognition. This latest feature is currently a hot innovation in audio systems: customers will launch calls by simply speaking their contacts’ names, with no need to record voice tags or browse their phonebooks, thus enjoying a drastically increased driver convenience.
